Mythic Heart Theatre

Visual artist Kathryn Oliver and Performing artist Kristi Williamson have collaborated over the past 16 years to create unique ritual theater experiences. Their productions rooted in dance, drama, music, mask-work, visual art and film, weave archetypal stories, timeless literature, mystical poetry and the beauty of the natural world.

By engaging our “mythopoetic” imaginations, Kathryn and Kristi hope that their work can help to navigate troubled times by inspiring fresh ways of seeing and participating. They feel that the universal truths patterned through myth and poetry can help to offer insights for self-reflection towards growth and healing.

The late mythologist Joseph Campbell once said: “One problem in the modern world today is that we are not well acquainted with the literature of the spirit but instead are consumed by the news of the day and the problems of the hour.”

Mythic Heart Theatre’s Mission:

Ritual of Remembrance: Kathryn and Kristi celebrate the rhythms of Nature and the Wisdom of the Ages through performance and visual art animated through myth, song, dance, poetry, paintings, mask-work and film with opportunities for audience participation.
